I just found this About page.  I’m still very much a novice at all this.  Feel free to make suggestions and comments for improvements.  I will not be offended!  Probably only my mother will read it anyway…

I was prompted to start this blog by getting involved with Fiona Robyn through Twitter.  We both live in Malvern, Worcestershire in the UK and we met over a shared love of cake and cats.  Fiona writes small stones.  “A small stone is a polished moment of paying proper attention. Writing them helps people to engage with the world around them”.  You can find out more about the small stones here.

I like the philosophy behind writing small stones.  So many people in the world around me seem to require constant stimulation in the form of technology.  How many people do you see walking down the street with their noses buried in their iphones?  Writing small stones requires you to observe the world around you and to become connected with it in a different way.  You just need to stop being tethered to your technology and look up or around you once in a while.  You might be surprised at what your five senses observe.

This is my little offering of small stones to the world.  I would like to give people something to smile about.

Umm.. and the rest of it – About Me:

I’m married to the lovely Chris.  He’s very clever and does impressive stuff with IT infrastructures.  We have three cats, one girl and two boys.  I work in Marketing for a company who manufacture bagging and packaging solutions for customers all over the world.  I travel around Europe with my job.  Occasionally I get to go to the States!  Always exciting!  I speak French and Spanish.  I play a clarinet and a bass clarinet. I adore music.  I am training to be a yoga teacher and one day I might be brave enough to actually teach a class!

I like cake.  And beer.  Not at the same time.  That’s bad.  And causes a stomach ache.
